Saturdays, I miss you...

As you can see, my Saturday got carried away with other things. So much so that it is already Sunday, 12:04 a.m. as I compose a blog for Saturday's eatz. This was the soonest I could get here, peeps, trust!

Is it possible that there is any better combo than the two apple tastic things pictured below? I will say "No way, not possible." Have a look for yourself! PS - I took the picture from behind because I wanted too.

This, my dears, was the MECCA of BREAKFAST!!!

Fage Total 0%
1 Honeycrisp, chopped and heated with a sprinkle of my new fave thing ... CINNAMON
1/3 C. Granola (cheap too - nothing fancy, Kroger brand!)
MORE CINNAMON on top

Is it down right wrong for my breakfast to taste like a decadent dessert? Just wondering. Well, if it is, than my taste buds don't wanna be right!

You'll be happy to know, the dogs were equally as pleased with their breakfast as I was with mine.

California Natural
- Herring & Sweet Potato for the kiddos. Yum!

The title of this blog refers mainly to the fact that I now have two jobs. I now have two jobs and I regularly work all seven days of the week. I miss my Saturdays. Today was double duty. I woke up early because I wanted to get a fair amount of yummy food, relaxation time and productivity in before work. Work was at 5 p.m. Yummy food? Check. Relaxation time? Uh, hello? Relaxation time? Where did you go? Calling Relaxation time, party of one. Final call for Relaxation time, party of one. ... It never came. Productivity rushed right in stole the show. I spent the better part of my day taking defensive driving, online, for a pesky ticket I got back in August. Hush your mouth, I know I'm a procrastinator! Moving on...

I started to get hungry so I whipped up a taste-tastic lunch!

Oro Wheat Sandwich Thin
Kraft Free Mayo
Smart Deli Ham
Sargento Reduced, Colby Jack Slice
Cedar's Roasted Red Pepper Hommus - that's how they spell it on the label *shrug*
Black Pepper
Cayenne Pepper

Ooey, Gooey, Toasty Madness!

Boss man called when I started my shift and told me to get outta there 2 hours early. COOL! Don't have to tell me twice. I'm also doing a mid tomorrow instead of closing, which was the original plan. I'm happy about this. I'm also happy to be going to bed now. My din din was glorious, but I was so hungry by the time I got around to eating at work that I forgot to photograph. I leave you with just one tidbit about it, GO TRY THESE products, specifically THIS! Ignore the nutrition label for that though - it's wrong on the website!

Can't wait to catch up on all of your wonderful blogs tomorrow when I'm not all Fred Flintstone with the close pins on my eyelids. Goodnight Moon!

Slacker Returns!

Hello, Hello!

I've been slacking on this for sure! Maybe I'm the queen of starting projects that I never finish. That irks me though because it is quite possibly one of my biggest pet peeves in others. I figured I'd catch up...or at the very least, give you something to look at.

First, let me say, out of nowhere, I've been blindsided with a true obsession with CINNAMON! I can't get enough - I'm adding it to everything!

Second, for the foodblog thing to work out properly, I must get up the nerve to break out my point and shoot digital camera each time I want to capture food for you all. It's no bueno to use the iPhone camera, as you can see, photo quality = bad news! Note: the food tastes way better than the photos can ever suggest, at least until I've gotten into the practice of non habitual laziness and break out the other cam.

At any rate, let me share at least one meal that made my head spin in pleasure. I look forward to breakfast everyday at breakfast time. Here, I'll be more clear ... I look forward to the NEXT day's breakfast everyday at breakfast time. Usually, I start to prep and I get ideas for the following day and start getting excited. Lunch and dinner, I'm sorry to say that you've got some serious competition these days. Better pick it up a bit.

So, in a random Facebook ad, I clicked to receive a free package of this from Bear Naked! I was pleased!! Go gitcha some today!

Then, I created THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fage Total 0%, Bear Naked Banana Nut Cereal, Banana, CINNAMON

Folks, I'm not kidding when I tell you that was off the chiz-ain!!!!!! Wowzers! I pledge to you, I'll be more regular from now on. I've been creating some of the most wonderful dishes of love and wonder. I have to share with someone, might as well be with those that appreciate GOOD and GOOD FOR YA food just as much as I do!

Craving Chicken Parmesan? I Was ...

Being a vegetarian for nearly three years, it is pretty easy these days. I get random cravings and when I do, I go right out and try to come up with a sensible, similar substitute.

I present to you - Dinner from Tuesday (9/29/09) Night - Chik'n Parmesan
Pardon the not-so-special photography

This one took my craving, twisted it in two and ripped it right outta there! GO ME!! I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a QUICK, LIGHT, HEALTHY, TASTY meal. Pair it up with a side salad and go to town!

What I used:

Quorn Chik'n Patties (1)
Hunt's Basil, Garlic & Oregano Sauce (1/2 cup)
Tofu Shirataki Noodles - Spaghetti Shape (4 oz. or 1/2 pkg.)
Kraft Fat Free Shredded Mozzarella (1/2 cup)

YummYummy.

An Introduction

Hello!

Let's get things started! My name is Liz and I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Over the course of the last year, I've changed a lot. One of the main things I've changed is my eating habits. I've started this blog because I'm a total "foodie" at heart. I love to eat, take pictures of food, share what I've made and tried, etc. I figured this would be a great way to get my "foodie fix".

This blog does not claim to be the most healthy and will fit into no particular category other than vegetarian and it will take on an overall healthy vibe. I will post photos, recipes and miscellaneous blurbs about all things FOOD!

I hope you enjoy!
