OMG I MADE AN OMELET!!!!

Good Evening My Loverrrrzzzzz ...

I'm a complete and total SPAZ right now. First, I'd like to tell you all I had a great day! The second of two "get out of work an hour early-free" cards was used today. Hoooraaaahhh! The bf and I are catching him up on the seasons of Grey's before next season starts. He's watched the latest with me and we are now moving quite swiftly through season 2.

Let us just get right down to brass tacks - I'm too excited to wait any longer. Thank you SO much to HEAB for showcasing how to make an omelet in THIS POST. Bee tee dubs -- I dictionary.com'd how it's supposed to be spelled and it comes in both ways I guess. At least they both produce the same exact three definitions. Omelet, Omelette ... um, yeah, moving on.

A Festive Feast Really

Omelet
  • 1 egg/2 egg whites
  • 2 slices Smart Deli Ham
  • 1 slice Sargento, Reduced Fat Provolone
  • Low Sugar GRAPE JELLY schmashed and schmeeaared on top!
Usual Suspect

Oh, I'm goooood! I'm REAL good!

For the record, wait - someone is keeping a record - omelets can come by for dinner ANYTIME!

So tonight, of course, you see it up there ... the Usual Suspect... but it's not usually donning THIS!

Never again. I will eat this up and use it for it's original intent -- to savor the bottle when I start making and bottling my own dressings, which will be the minute this runs out. I may try it as a tofu marinade? Certainly it can't be worse than it was on the salad?! Anyone tried this before? Am I crazy nuts for not loving it?

Pretty much starved to death by the time I made it by Target to pick up the "baby away", I browsed the bar bins to see what I could see. Too heavy in all nutritionally related areas for me to consume on the daily, but this thang was dead tasty! Scrumpch!

Off I go for more Grey's kids. Peace out!!

Q's:
1. What are some of your fave items to throw into an omelet, omelette?
I can imagine the redic possibilities. I kept saying "OMG, my life has changed forever" once I took my first bite. My dear over HERE inspired me to throw jelly on it!

2. What's your fave bar?
Love my Luna's but I should probably branch out!

Lazy DinDin, Blog Stalkin' & Hemp Protein

Good Evening Foodies!

How is your week goin' so far? Mine? Hmmmmmmm. It's goin' and I had a "get out of work one hour early-free" card for not one, but TWO days this week when I arrived! That's me, best job ever girl. Lol~ No, but anywhoooo, I skipped out at 3:30 p.m. today and will be doing the same tomorrow. *happy sighs* Please don't take this to mean that I have been productive since coming home. I absolutely haven't been. I have a list of things to do and then I'm going to bed! Early. 'Nuff said.

My mind is so busy lately. I can't quiet my thoughts! There's SO much floating around up there, so much I want to do, so much needs to get done, wants, needs, tasks .... AAAAHHHHHH!! I can't figure out if I need a vacation or if I need to address this issue in typical, 10th grade English paper style and make an "outline" first. It's all very exciting things, for the most part -- so that is....well, EXCITING!

Dearest peeps, I NEED YOUR HELP! I bought and have been using the Vanilla Hemp Protein Powder. I get a SERIOUS case of the jitters and weirdness when I consume it. Is this normal? Has ANYONE ever experienced this? Does it go away? I tried only using half a portion this morning and still got the same reaction. I want to do protein and was really amped about the Hemp vs. any others and am now thinking it may not work. ?? I also want to try the Amazing Grass Amazing Meal but it's protein sources are Hemp and Rice proteins. Also, the Manitoba Harvest site's FAQ page says there is no way to fail a drug test by consuming their products, however, I'm wondering if that holds true even if I plan to include this in my daily or several times a week regimen. This is, of course, if the strangeness I get from it goes away, otherwise I'm going to look into the Bio-Chems. Seriously, any helpful words would be greatly appreciated!!

Dinner was served for me, by me this evening promptly at 5:36 p.m. Yes, that's early, even for MOI! I like to have plenty o' digestion time before hopping in bed. As mentioned above, it's early to bed for me tonight. Annnnnddddddd ...... *DRUM ROLL PLEASE*

I GOT OUT MY POINT AND SHOOT!!!!! No iPhone photos on tonight's dinner "menu".

Usual Suspect Salad

BTW - I should mention this gorgeous display of sweet, succulent perfection was supposed to be eaten LAST NIGHT. Nobody told me that it takes about a day and a half to make a baked sweet potato in the oven. Rookie mistake. I usually use the pre readied, plastic wrapped, "stick this sucka in the micro for 7 minutes and listen to it sing" variety. I must say, hands down, no comparison, I'll be getting these and doing it the right way from now on. SOOOO Good!!

My salad looks appetizing with the use of my Canon ELPH!

Inside of my non impressive, but highly tasty and FAST "pretendwich"... I had some ketchup to dip this in too -- it made it to dinner late and therefore, was not pictured.

I'm outta here kids!

Q's:
1. What protein do you use and why? Why do you like it? What purpose does it serve with your dietary needs/daily regimen?
I am trying the Manitoba Harvest and as I stated, it may not be working. :( Major case of the sads if that stays true. I want it for sustenance. I'm not trying to bulk up or gain weight -- opposite actually, but just intended to use it in the GMs or Breakfast Cookies to hold me tight until lunch.

2. Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the thoughts spinning in your head? What quiets this for you?
I try to read and blog and read blogs and then get bogged down with the fact that I know I want to do these things. Also, my mind will go a million directions on me and then I am chasing my thoughts around all day making sure I don't forget anything. Anytime I gear up for a life change this happens. That, and, I need a cleaning lady and I need to de-clutter EVERYTHING; house, life, computer files ... EVERYTHING!

New Yums, Stir Fry Queen X2 & A Happy Memorial Day!

What's up peeps?? Everyone having a wonderful Holiday weekend? My three day weekend, I mean...day off that I had today was great. I worked the other days. But hey, I'll take the day off compared to none since I am normally pulling the seven day work weeks! I made a little money and had a pretty chillaxed weekend. Of course, the Registered Dietitian train never ceases to steam roll through my head. Big decisions on the horizon, folks .... BIG TIME DECISIONS!

Well, let's get to the eatz, shall we? Let me preface by saying, this post is going to be somewhat inspired by and copy-catory (I made that word up, deal with it) of one of my favorite FABU FOOD~ISTAS. 'Tis true, she really got my creative, whole foodie juices flowing after reading earlier in the weekend.

So - I worked my heart out on Saturday then went to SPROUTS. Love me some SPROUTS! It's like Whole Foods, only ... not quite as cool or pricey, on a smaller scale and closer to home. I had to pick up some staples for my morning Monster ritual. I've really found that these jjjjuuummmppp start my day. I always use my Amazing Grass, Superfood packets, but finally ventured into the protein powder world. I decided on the Manitoba Harvest, Hemp Protein, Vanilla. Does anyone out there do both the wheat grass/superfood AND the protein pows in their smoothies? After checking the facts on both, I believe I am gaining many benefits from each that offer separate sets of awesomeness even when combined. Also, I'm more into the protein pow for sustenance, not bulk or weight gain. I plan to only use one serving a day -- any thoughts or input on this would be helpful! I also picked up some Organic Puffed Kamut! Thanks again, to Katie's post!!
Dear Kamut,
Where have you been my whole life? I'm so happy to have found you!
Love, Liz
I had to throw some Luna bars in the mix too. I mean, 4/$5...yes, please! Luna bars take hunger and pretty much stomp it out for a good 3-5 hours for me. Anything that can do that is worth more than a hill of beans to me! Ha! I should mention that I ravenously attacked my Iced Oatmeal Raisin Luna the minute I was back in my car. Staple around here = Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Breeze, 'nuff said. Please allow me to explain that I sincerely had high hopes for bringing the loot in and photographing it immediately. That plan went down hill upon said encounter with Luna bar #1 and then only further tanked when I had to quick fast get ready to head out the door to see a movie. Hence, you get a photo of foods that have all been opened and sampled already! Sex and the City 2 .... you disappointed me.

Remember months ago when I made the best stir fry ever? Welllllll..... I. Was. Wrong. !!! Feast your eyes on the glory below!

Busy Thoughts All Dancing Around In My Head

Hello Loves!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying some wonderful foods. I have been! Sadly, I haven't been documenting much. You'd think that camera that Matt got me for Christmas would be helping. I really need to crack that thing out of my purse and take it on several daily spins.

So, what's new with me?
Well....I've been doing a lot of soul searching, researching, talking to loved ones, etc. I have decided that I want to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian. What do you all think? While we are on this topic, are any of you RDs? Who knows?! It's worth askin'! Anyway, this is going to take a big leap of faith. I am ready for the challenge or, at the very least, ready for the phone call to make an appointment with the school(s) I'm looking to attend. Anyway - thoughts on this?

I did capture one HOT meal this week! Here...this is what I'm really on this blog to do, right? RIGHT! I will not tease you any longer! I now present the ...

OMG Pizza Deluxe

1 Flatout
2 Tbsp. Cedar's Roasted Rep Pepper Hommus
1/4 Cup Hunt's Basil, Garlic & Oregano tomato sauce
1/4 Cup Kraft FF Shredded Mozz
1 Slice Sargento Reduced Fat Colby-Jack Slice
2/3 Cup Morningstar Farm's Sausage Style Crumbles

WHAT WHAT!! So tasty! I was very, very proud of this 5 minute creation! It was filling, scrumptious, inspiring and MORE!

Question: What do you do for a living? Have you ever wished you went back to school for something else?

New Beginnings . . . ??

Here I am again. Long lost poster extraordinaire. Please do not think I don't miss each of you I read and those of that are sweet enough to read me! I miss you all a BUNCH!!!! I have some exciting news that I plan to share soon. I have to share the news at ground level first though before I go blasting to the universe of foodies.

Anyway - just checking in while enjoying a Smart Ones Angel Hair Marinara, Cauliflower w/ cheese sauce, Emerald Natural Almonds and Applesauce ((JEEZ!! Can you say BIG LUNCH?)) ... I also need some help. I am on the hunt for either student Registered Dietitians, student Registered Dietitian bloggers, Registered Dietitians, Registered Dietitian bloggers or anyone who knows any combo of those qualities. I believe I had once stumbled upon a few RD student blogs but did not add them to my roll.

HELP!!

Best Snaxkie Ever!!

Hello Hello My Lovelies!

Can you believe I have a day off? Oh my goodness, well two, actually!! I was off today for some routine doctor visits and then had to hop over to the Municipal Court to pay a pesky ticket I got last weekend. Driving FAIL. I made it from 16 to 25 before I got speeding ticket ONE and now, I have two. One isn't on my record though so...sssshhhh!!

Back to having a day off, YES - tomorrow, I HAVE A DAY OFF! That is quite good considering I'm going into the most head-spinning, busy week of my year. So, tomorrow is filled with relaxation and who knows? I may actually take down the Christmas Tree. *hides and giggles* Ah, yes ... it's still Christmas in the Liz-Matt-Kosmo-Miller-Olive-Roxy residence. Year of Cheer, anyone? Ha!

I'll leave you with a photo of my new fave snaxkie!

Honeycrisp Apple (last of season, really trying to hang on while I can)
2 T Better n' Peanut Butter
CINNAMON

I'll be back tomorrow, kiddos.

Over n' Out!

Thanks for reading!!

Question: What's your favorite afternoon snack that tends to really get you through until dinner time?

Need A Life Change

Happy New Year!!

....what? Am I late? Yes, I know - I know! I haven't been around and I'm sorry. Just when I had you all biting your nails all day for my next post, POOF, I disappear. Please accept this apology?

I come back tonight with no food descriptions or photos of food eaten lately. I come tonight missing my blog, missing my blog readers and missing the blogs I used to follow daily. I come tonight needing a change. You see, I'm NOT happy. I'm working like a dog (insert description of 68+ hour work week here) and I'm so worn out. I don't have time for the YOGA and running I want to begin again, I don't have time for my fellow foodies or to even indulge my own inner foodie. I'm not my best person right now. Not for me, not for anyone and it's starting to become evident. I guess you can say...I come back tonight in search of a soul cleanse and a catalyst to begin in a new direction that will take me back to being happy and feeling fulfilled.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not some pathetic, drained sap just moping around. That is NOT the case at all. I can just tell it's time for me to make a change and make some cuts and figure out what's really important for ME. I have to figure these things out, although I'm almost sure I know, and make some necessary compromises to achieve ultimate happy ME.

I ask for you to hang on and don't lose faith in me while I make the transition back to the fun, food and life loving ME you've known in the past. I'll be back. While I can't say I'll be able to post DAILY for a while ... maybe even WEEKLY is a more attainable goal. Just hang on with me. I am determined to make 2010 the best year yet, for myself, on a personal level. I'll be back to commenting on your blogs again soon as well.

I'm empowered and determined! WORLD... WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!

TurkeyDay Success!!!

Thanksgiving 2009 was a huge hit!! I had a great Holiday. So much to be thankful for this year. MommaBear came in...it was grand! I'm obviously and always late posting, so without further adieu.

:) Started the Day Off Right :)

1 Pkg. Quaker Instant Oatmeal Plain
1/2 C. Libby's Pumpkin
1 T. Agave
1 T. Better'n PB
Shake-shake CINNAMON

This was the best way I could think of, when my eyes popped open, to start THANKSGIVING! It delivered and I got my pumpkin fill. I had some lunch at some point. It was nothing too festive or fantastic. Lean Pocket & Raisins as a snack. Got me through until it was time for dinner!

My THANKSGIVING

1 LightLife Smart Stuffer Chik'n Cordon Bleu
1 Sweet Potato w/ 1 T. Smart Balance Light w/ Flax & CINNAMON
1/2 C. Canned GBs
1 T. Ketchup

My dinner ROCKED. For dessert I had an unpictured, Banana Nut Vita Top. It was the best one I could think of to go with the day's theme. It might just be my favorite so far! So tasty!!!

I bet you are wondering what everyone ELSE had for Thanksgiving...you know, the ones who aren't Vegetarians and those that properly treated and indulged themselves. Well, as I didn't try any of this, I cannot say I enjoyed it, however I know it was good because I continuously put my nose up to each serving dish and pretended. Everyone around the table was stuffed and pleased, so I can only imagine the delight of my taste buds, had I partaken. I had some side motivation though - and we'll get to that in a moment.

Their THANKSGIVING

Ham
Deep Fried Turkey
Corn Casserole *OMG - REALLY?*
Honey Mustard
Gravy
Stuffing
Homemade Cranberry Sauce
GB Casserole
Mashed Taters
Yams
Hawaiian Rolls *My Fave-ugh*

My Pretty MommaBear & Aunt-Grandma Chris (the Chef) With All of the FOOD!

There's not enough blog to talk about the relation of Chris and I. She has been dubbed "Aunt-Grandma" and we'll leave it at that. Please note: For Chris's sake, she is neither my Aunt nor my Grandma....in blood relation, at least.

Anywhoo - Remember that "side motivation" I spoke about above? Did you all know Old Navy was open and having Gobblepallooza yesterday? Well, much to Mom's credit card dismay, it was! We can just say that Mom got her Christmas for the Cub OUT OF THE WAY! This is good because I realllly needed winter clothes and a jacket. I got tons of clothes! Like, 9 shirts, 3 pairs of jeans and a VERY SNAZZY jacket!! Soooo Happy!! I also go the cutest little slipper/shoe socks. They are made to look like a little bootie but a shoe. They have the sticky prints on the bottom so you don't go sliding and slipping around. And, that cute little strap over the top?! Ohhhh! I'm eatin' that up! FASHION, people! Warm, cozy, CUTE and CHEAP at $2.50 a pair!

That's ME in the PURPLE!

To share a few of the memories...

MommaBear & Cub

Mathew & I - First Thanksgiving Together

I hope you all were as blessed and thankful as I. I can't wait to go catch up on all of your blogs!! Have a great day, I'm off to work here in a bit.

Turkey Eve Eatz

This is going to be a VERY short recap of what was eaten, well, at least what was interesting that was eaten, yesterday.

Ran Out of Fage....

1 Breakstone's 4 Oz. 2% Milk Fat Small Curd Cottage Cheese
1 Pkg. Planter's Daybreak Trailmix
1 C. Frozen Mango w/ a Shake-shake of CINNAMON

For dinner, I had a fast meal! Afterall, MommaBear is in town and she's far more important than dinner! ;) I whipped up a quick pizza and ceremonious salad and called dinner DONE.

Best One I've Made Yet

1 Healthy Grain Flat Out
1/4 C. Hunt's Tomato Sauce Basil, Garlic & Oregano
1/4 C. Kraft Shredded FF Cheddar
1/4 C. Kraft Shredded FF Moz

Turkey Eve Eve

What a great night! I am happy to be home and happy to be posting tonight. I just had the best night at work. Things are great when they are great...let's just say that! It was a short shift as well. You can't beat a quick 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., four hour shift!

Anyway, I'm super excited about tomorrow. I live for the Holidays! Seriously. Starting in early October I get more and more giddy as the days go by. When Halloween rolls around, I've lost my sanity and am just my inner child, fully unleashed. Git It! Oh yea!! My Momma Bear is coming in, from Nashville, tomorrow!!! YAY!! Matt's getting in and meeting me at home when I get off. We are going to clean sweep the house and then go see Mom. This makes my heart smile.

Off to the great and interesting meals of the day!

Sidebar: I'm going to get in T-R-O-U-B-L-E for this...

Meals of Note for the Last Two Days

I hope you all are doing grand! I am only going to recap the most worthy meals from yesterday and today. They are of high regard though, that, I promise you! I've been super busy. Worked the longest shift of my life at el second job last night. I also did not have a very good shift. Actually, it was awful. I'm hoping to turn that all around tomorrow night. Positive thinking turns out positive results. I finally saw New Moon and enjoyed it. Matt liked the first one better. Anywhoo...on with the show.

Behold the Beauty of This Morning!

1 Honeycrisp Chopped & Micro'd for 1.5 Minutes
1 Pkg Plain Quaker Oatmeal
2 T. Better'n Peanut Butter
1 T. Organic Agave
4 Shake-shakes of CINNAMON

WOW! This was so filling and to be quite honest, a PARTY IN MY MOUTH! This has to be one of my MOST FAVORITE breakfasts I've ever eaten. I can't say enough about the Agave Nectar. I love it! It is a little pricey, but well worth it!! I was told under strict order that I "BETTER USE THAT!" I am putting it on everything. I can't wait to try some of Kath's pancakes with it!

Let's talk about yesterday...we'll get to breakfast in a second, but first...It was onward to lunch before work. I needed something that was going to fill me up and not let the taste buds down! I had no idea that what I was creating would be such a feast of amazement! Holy Smokes! It did it's job in both departments, I was so tickled with the tastiness and it held me over until about 8:30 p.m. As a reference, I consumed this GLORY somewhere in the 1 o'clock hour.

Plated Love. 'Nuff Said.

"But, wait!" You say, "Tell us what's on that GORGEOUS sandwich!" .....okay, okay.....

Special K MultiGrain Crackers
2 T. Cedar's Roasted Red Pepper Hommus
1 OroWheat MultiGrain Sandwich Thin
5 Slices Tofuky "Philly Steak" Style Deli Slices *UM, HELLO, McFly.....SOOOO GOOD!!!*
1 Slice Sargento Reduced Fat Pepper Jack
1 Tsp. Silver Spring Beer & Brat Mustard
1 T. Kraft Free Mayo
2 Shake-shakes Cayenne & Black Peppas

MAKE THIS SANDWICH KIDS - You'll Be So Pleased With Yourselves!!!!!!!!!!

So, I worked my shift. As I stated, I had dinner around 8:30 p.m. It was nothing fancy, although, I was highly impressed. Lean Cuisine makes a killer pizza! I had the Mushroom Pizza last night and I wasn't expecting it to be so tasty! It was. Nothing more to say, however.

Going in true backwards fashion, let's talk about yesterday's breakfast! It was wonderous and full of Wow. It was also filling. This is the most common theme, along with exciting my taste buds, that I'm looking for in breakfast these days. I hadn't opened my second can of Libby's yet, so I figured yesterday could be the day. I was happy I did. 'Twas also the first time I tried my new Sweetheart, Agave Nectar. MMmMmMMmmmMmMMm

She's No Looker....That Doesn't Change How I Feel About Her Though!

1 Pkg. Quaker Plain Oatmeal
1/2 C. Libby's Pure Pumpkin
2 T. Better'n Peanut Butter
1 T. Organic Agave
3 Shake-shakes CINNAMON

I'm off to catch up on last week's Grey's and enjoy some time with my sweetie! Hope you all have a great night.

GoodNight Moon.

Yesterday's Eatz?

Hello! Hello!

I hope you all had a fabulous Saturday! I worked this evening. Perhaps the title of my blog should be "Yesterday's Eatz" because I seem to post either after midnight, or after sleeping, making it REALLY the next day.

Today, I kinda sat around, did some laundry, had some yummy food...you know, the norm. I slept in a little bit and was starving when I woke. I was teetering back and forth on what to eat. I decided on the bowl of Love you see below.

And, I Pronounce Myself .... The Stir Fry Queen

You may be noticing that it is Saturday and you saw no post from me last night. I fell asleep at my computer, literally, computer in lap, sitting up in bed, hand on keyboard. I was in this position for roughly 2 hours. My hand was so numb when I woke up! Anyway, I was rather disoriented, so I thought it best not to blog in foreign sleep language and just proceeded on to bed.

I am starting yesterday's food at the end and working my way back. It was too darned awesome not too! If you have any apprehension about believing me, please refer to the title of this blog post. I had NO idea I could make a stir fry, on my own, out of thin air, with NO RECIPE!! I created this - me, myself, my hands, my brain ... I CREATED THIS ... AND IT WAS GOOD!

All Ingredients In...Ready For Cook Down

3 oz. Fresh Broc
3 oz. Fresh Snow Peas (BGF is *gasping* & *fainting* right now)

YUUUUM!

Work Snack, 100 Calorie - Chocolate & Caramel Chex Mix

I forgot to get a picture of my lunch as I was zipping around to the bank and gas station while consuming lunch. But...

Here's The Wrapper!

I love Amy's products. They are simply, some of the best I've tried! If you haven't tried them, or are unfamiliar, they are a Vegetarian company. They offer both Vegan & Vegetarian options. I have had their bowls, meals, burritos, etc. They make tons of frozen items from breakfast to snack to dinner. AWESOME!

I needed to get something in my belly other than Fage for breakfast. So, instead of work, I went to a keg party and instead of breakfast...

I Had Beer.

Okay, I kid, I kid. No, I forgot my extra bowl to mix all breakfast ingredients into. That was sad. Not for long though - I then found said "keg cup". I get fancier every day, I tell ya!

Blurry Oatmeal Mess

1 Pkg Quaker Instant Oatmeal Plain
1 Honeycrisp Chopped *microwaved 1.5 minutes*
3-4 Shake-shakes of CINNAMON
1 Mini Box Market Pantry Raisins

Sorry again for the late post. I gotta get it together!! I'll see you all tonight after work!

Long Day, Tired Night

I'm so tired. I attended a lotion class for work tonight. For the second job, that is. I was notified of this lotion class at 8 a.m. this morning. Kinda foiled evening plans of TV watchin' and tree decoratin'. ((Sorry Babe))

This will be a short, short story tonight. Please don't stone me for the food you are about to witness either. It was a rather uneventful foodie type day.

Tired of this theme yet? I think I'll switch her up tomorrow.

Fage Total 0%
Yogi Granola Crisps
1/4 Fresh Blues

Top View! I made sure not to mix in all the Yogis this time!

Prepare to NOT be amazed. I do love this though!

1 Lean Cuisine Macaroni & Cheese
1 Honeycrisp (marginally better than yesterday's) *SMILES*
1 Vita Top Fudgy Peanut Butter Chip (WHOA NELLY! STOP THE BUS! Love!)

New Favorite Things Hump Day!

Hi! How was everyone's day? I hope it was half as great as mine. Most days, I hope for a great day, which would be, on any normal day, HALF as great as the day I've had!

I tried Chobs for the first time! This was thanks to my BGF (Best Good Friend), who loves me and always buys in bulk at Costco. It was a big hit. I would really love to mix it up with some fresh fruit and freeze it! Wow, that'd be greatness!

Red, Blue & Greek All Over

Chobs Blue
